One of My Favourite Quotes

“Through every generation of the human race there has been a constant war, a war with fear. Those who have the courage to conquer it are made free and those who are conquered by it are made to suffer until they have the courage to defeat it, or death takes them.”

This is one of my favourite quotes. It is by Alexander the Great, an ancient king of Macedon. He is often ranked among the world’s most influential people of all time, along with his teacher Aristotle. Most people have never learned to harness their fear. Fear, the source of all the negative agreements we have made in life, can alienate us from the joy that is our birthright. It can close our hearts, shape our emotional life, and freeze our emotions, but the only power that fear has is the power we give to it. We can take that power back.

What we need is to have some understanding of what we really want in life and why we want it. The freedom we want the most is found beyond the fear that we avoid the most. When we move through our very worst fear, we realize that, ultimately, there is nothing to be afraid of. Burst the bubble of one fear, and all our other fears begin to lose their power over us too. When we are able to look at our lives and our worlds without fear or judgment, we realize that this dream we are dreaming – reality – can be whatever we want it to be.

The world is abundant. Conquer your fear and you can get what you want from life.
